Living Peace Workshops:
Living Peace does not assume that you will never be angry, hurt, challenged or upset. Instead, the program offers you tools to quickly return to a place of calm and decrease the time spent suffering.
Based on a realistic approach of cause and effect, Living Peace can benefit those who feel stressed or anxious, suffer from constant mind chatter, ache from past emotional pain, lack a seamless life between work and leisure, agonize over relationships, family or finances or just want to feel a little calmer and healthier. Living Peace offers subtle solutions to help you keep your cool in any situation and to harmonize life’s challenges.
Through guided meditation and thought-provoking conversations, we’ll explore what it means to feel content, at ease, and non-conflicted. You’ll leave Bali feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and with a newfound sense of inner peace.

Bali FAQ
Can I come earlier?
Sure! We stay at Tegal Sari, but don’t feel limited. Maybe try Sanur or Uluwatu for a few days before coming up to Ubud.
Can I stay later?
You bet! We recommend beach time. For something completely different, Gili Trawangan is great. The white sand beach and clear turquoise ocean on the dockside of the island is wonderful. There are no cars on the island, just horse-drawn carts. Snorkel tours from Trawangan are worth it. You’ll see turtles, all kinds of fish, and maybe the manta rays.
Nusa Lembongan is a shorter boat ride – and stunningly beautiful. Again, the snorkel tours are worth it.
I like to return to Bali a day or two before my flight leaves “just in case”. I usually stay in Sanur, where the sea wall goes on and on.
Great little restaurants and a fun place to re-group my thoughts and re-pack my suitcase before heading home with Bali in my heart forever.
Which airline do you recommend?
China Airlines is the fastest and most direct flight. It is also usually the cheapest.
Why are some meals not included?
There are so many interesting and unique local restaurants close by, that we encourage you to explore the local fair. Meals are between $5-10 without alcohol.
I want to see the elephants, which park do you prefer?
The most ethical park on Bali is the Mason Elephant Park. You can view elephants, befriend them, bathe them, or ride them. The elephants are treated well and you can read about the park’s practices and elephant rescue and care.
Is it unethical to ride the elephants?
Yes and no. Mason Elephant Park has saddles – seats, designed not to stress the elephant’s back. If you are concerned, please talk directly (email) to the park to relieve any anxiety and participate with joy. These elephants are all rescues from Sumatra.
What currency should I bring?
The national currency is Rupiah. Order it about 2 weeks before the trip – it’s not a popular currency in our local banks. You can exchange Canadian dollars there at any bank and there are ATM’s everywhere. The fee is $5.00 for each withdrawal.
Can I drink the water?
Nope. Our hotel has filtered water dispensers in the lobby and you are encouraged to re-fill your own water bottle.
Can I bring Medicinal Marijuana?
NO WAY! The drug laws in Bali are super-strict. You will be harshly penalized if you get caught with any kind of narcotics. Please don’t bring anything, it’s not worth the risk. We must respect their law.
What clothing can I wear in Bali?
You can wear anything in Bali (parka or wool sweaters not recommended). However, the locals become strict when it comes to visiting temples in Bali. Both men and women should be fully covered and wear modest clothing. Wearing a sarong or a scarf inside the temple is mandatory.
Why is Bali so Spiritual?
Bali is a religious country that gives a great deal of importance to its customs and traditions. Most of the people on the island follow Balinese Hinduism which is a fusion of Indian and local Bali customs and culture. Every home has a temple, every village has a temple and all regions have temples. Prayers and offerings are performed multiple times a day. You will learn much – it is incredibly humbling.
Muslim, Christianity, and Buddhism are a few other minority religions on the island.
