Myths, Monsters and Mysteries

Step into the shadows where monsters grumble, and myths awaken

Perfect for lovers of folklore, liminal magic, and inner discovery

Myths, Monsters & Mysteries unveils creatures lingering at the edge of reality: forest guardians, giants, tricksters, and spectral beings that mystify, elude, haunt, enchant, and inspire.

Each card carries the essence of its character: courage, caution, insight, wisdom, playfulness, foreboding, or mischief. These beings are echoes of folklore and modern mystery, serving as guides and companions on your own fascinating journey.

The unusual and the enchanted summon you to tap into your intuition and lean into the uncanny, where the world tilts just slightly, and the ordinary becomes extraordinary. Myths and monsters call you to draw a card for daily reflection, inspiration, answers, or to illuminate shadowed corners as reflective questions, shadow aspects, and keywords take you deeper into the work, offering insight, perspective, and the kind of deliberate nudge only a being outside the ordinary can provide.

This deck is your companion in discovery. The strange, the magical, and the mysterious are never truly separate from your life; they exist in the shimmer of water, the passing of a shadow, and the stories carried through generations. To walk with these cards is to walk with an open mind and a warm heart, noticing how illusion dissolves and the unseen reveals itself just beyond the familiar.

Background

My Adventure with the Monsters
I loved exploring the personalities of these Canadian cryptids, legends, myths, and monsters. My favourite is the Hidebehind. Despite horror stories painting him as a villain, the poor guy is really just a scapegoat; an explanation for lost loggers and a way to keep camaraderie alive (he dislikes the smell of alcohol, so drink up, everyone!). Mugwump is pretty loveable, too.

Jackalope is a modern legend, basically an accidental creation in the U.S., but he’s so incredibly cute that I had to let him hop the border into Canada.

The Fisherman of Malaspina is my dad. When he passed, folks said, “The man was a legend.” So here we are.

If you look up the Whistler Creekside Ghost, the mediums who helped her find peace were part of the Oracle team.

I’ve met the Giant Pacific Octopus, the Sun, the Moon, Giant Raven, Skookumchuck Wave, and I’ve danced with the Unknown; the others I researched. You’ll find my family as Pirates and Oracles, and, apparently, I’m married to the Sasquatch!

I hope you fall in love with these endearing, fantastic beasts and mystical entities. Who knows? You may already be neighbours.

The monsters and I wish you the very best in love and life as you sink into their ancient wisdom and create extraordinary legends of your own.
